Julie is a talented educationalist and has been a confident and innovative member of the Senior Leadership Team since joining the college in 2014. She has been instrumental in driving organisational development through embedding coaching and improving the quality of education through a variety of learning and development initiatives. She has also designed and delivered a very successful aspirational manager programme across Capital City Colleges Group since 2015 resulting in many participants moving into their first leadership role. Julie regularly acts as an ambassador for the college as a speaker and trainer at external events and has worked successfully on several joint teaching, learning and assessment partnership projects. She has organised several cross group conference events throughout the mergers which have been creative, insightful, linked to sector trends and instrumental in bringing different cultures together.
Kim Caplin: Principal of Westminster Kingsway College
I have known Julie Sinclair in a professional capacity for several decades and find her to be dynamic, creative and positive to work with. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience from working in different learning and development contexts and brings a wide range of skills and expertise related to engaging and motivating people, coaching, training, planning culture change, implementing development initiatives and evaluating impact. I have always enjoyed collaborating with Julie on projects as she is keen to share ideas and work together for the most effective outcome. She always brings a great deal of energy, focus and commitment to the work and I would highly recommend her to others.
Joanne Miles: J Miles Consulting - Consultant Coach & Trainer
In the 6 years that I have known and worked with Julie I have always found her to be reliable and trustworthy, full of energy and ideas, always trying to do things better and achieving that. Attendees and participants in her sessions are always positive about them and keen to put into practice what they have learned. She is a first class coach and mentor and I have seen her really turn people around to face the right way with a smile on their faces. Her Aspirational Managers programme, that she is running here, doesn’t leave the participants aspiring for long and often sets people on a clear path to management. At Croydon College, Julie is helping to build our new team of Teaching and Learning Mentors. We have also engaged her to work on a student to student coaching and mentoring project linked to improving attendance and outcomes. She is just fab!
Angela Edwards: Vice Principal Education & Quality, Croydon College
I had the pleasure of working with Julie during a collaborative teaching and learning project. Julie is an exceptional educational professional and leader. I always found her warm and welcoming, as well as very well organised with a structured and detailed eye. Her management style is one which engages and inspires those around her; she leads by example and creates coherent and succinct actions and processes to ensure projects are organised and effective. As a practitioner, her ability to deliver engaging, meaningful and challenging development sessions is second to none. She has a superb range of pedagogical approaches that she can incorporate and utilise to meet the needs of diverse cohorts. I have witnessed first-hand her approaches to working with small groups and individuals, and her humanistic style builds rapport and creates a comfortable and safe environment for all to work in. She offers challenge and criticality to students to ensure progress. More recently, I have had the pleasure of working with her again, to produce distance learning material for my post graduate students. I look forward to these collaborations continuing long into the future!
Richard Poole: Director of Degree Apprenticeships & Collaborative Provision (EDSOC - Secondment) at University of Portsmouth
Julie brings flair and innovation into driving the quality of teaching and learning. However, it is the results that matter and we have seen many long-lasting developments that continue to produce great teaching and learning that have been led and inspired by Julie. Her work to establish our teaching and learning coaches which now support our teachers across the whole college, alongside our e-learning coaches has delivered excellent results in and out of the classroom. I truly value the vision that Julie has brought to the team, with the determination to make a rapid impact with an award winning style. In education, and especially further education every Principal needs ‘a Julie’ and I will always use her skills to drive our quality in teaching, learning and assessment.

Having time to think, reflect and talk though challenges with a solutions focused approach has really helped me remain resilient and make sound choices in an uncertain time. I enjoyed the 1-1 coaching very much, thank you Julie.
Head teacher, Primary School Leeds
The 1-1 coaching with Julie has helped me through very uncertain times where I have had to have challenging conversations with staff. It has helped me think about how to frame them better to suit specific individuals and become a more resilient leader. I have seen a positive impact on the wellbeing of staff as well as on my own wellbeing.
Deputy Head Teacher, Academy School Bristol
Thought I'd update you Julie - I was made permanent (and given a pay rise!!)Things have been going really well, and I am now going to apply for the D P position. I spoke to my line manager about my career progression and wanted to express an interest in applying-you would have been so proud of me!!So, there you go- if it wasn't for the sessions I had with you I don't think I would have been brave enough to go for it, and every time a little voice in my head says-"I'm not sure you should do this" I give myself a little talking to, and remember that I'm good at my jobSo, thank you very much for helping me get there!!’ ‘
EJ: Deputy Director of English and Maths
As a new head in the year of a pandemic, I was lucky enough to engage in coaching sessions with Julie through Twitter. Each session was enlightening, supportive and goals were set to enable me to progress both as a head personally and to lead a school effectively through a very difficult period. I have also taken away strategies and tools to help me in the long term and would advocate coaching to all! I always talk to people about how brilliant my sessions were and happy to promote you. Thank you Julie
